Businessman and Son Kidnapped by Bandits in Taraba; One Killed

When around 10 kidnappers broke into a mosque in Jalingo, the capital of Taraba State, on Thursday, one person was slain and a businessman and his son were taken hostage.

TWISCOLOADED was informed by a source that the event took place at Jalo Junction in the Saminaka neighborhood of the Jalingo city during maghrib prayers.

The insider said that the businessman’s kid reportedly attends a secondary school.

He said:

“The kidnappers are said to have slain numerous individuals, including a police officer, and kidnapped more than 30 local residents in a short period of time.”

He said that many locals have been forced to leave the region because of the kidnappers, who he claimed are based in the highlands across the Lamurde River in the Ardo Kola local government area.

The Taraba State Police Command’s spokesperson, DSP Usman Abdullahi, could not be contacted for comment on the event.
