Diogo Jota, a Portuguese attacker for Liverpool, has a calf injury and will miss the World Cup, according to manager Jurgen Klopp.
In the last seconds of his team’s 1-0 Premier League victory against Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday, the 25-year-old was carried out on a stretcher.
Jota will be out for a “long period,” according to Klopp, and “we speak about months.”
“[It is] a really bad calf muscle damage. “Sad news for us, Portugal, and the youngster,” the German said.
