Ashley Rison, 31, admitted guilt to the charges of gross sexual imposition and sexual battery on Wednesday, October 12.
Additional allegations against her have been dismissed, including giving alcohol to a youngster and tampering with evidence.
On May 3 of last year, the day the alleged offenses were reported to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office, Rison resigned from her position as softball coach at New Miami School in Ohio.
She allegedly had eight sexual encounters with the student in April 2021, according to the indictment.
In prior court proceedings, Assistant Prosecutor Lindsay Sheehan stated, “In addition to what the child tells us, we do have recordings between Ms. Rison and the child of where Ms. Rison makes repeated incriminating statements in pleading, begging the child not to report her to the authorities.”
According to the New Miami Board of Education, Rison began working for the school system in August 2015 and coaching girls’ basketball and softball.
Rison reportedly posted 10% of her $10,000 bail and is now out on bond while sporting a GPS monitor.
She might be required to register as a sex offender and face a five-year prison sentence.
On November 16, she will return to court for sentencing.
