The 22-year-old, who was viewed as a potential star for Arsenal, declined throughout the most recent campaign.
Due to physical difficulties, he had a difficult time getting into games last season, making only 15 appearances for Arsenal.
Smith Rowe stated in a statement to The Times that Arteta wishes to keep him at the North London club.
“Arsenal are my team, and I won’t give up until [Mikel Arteta] says he no longer wants me,” Arteta said.
“However, that is false. He wants me on the team, and I want to fight to reclaim my position and rejoin the group, he declared.
