Mohamed Salah, a star player, was told to leave Liverpool

Former Liverpool striker John Aldridge has encouraged manager Jurgen Klopp to bench the team’s struggling attacker Mohamed Salah.

Salah has been a shell of himself thus far this season after scoring 31 goals for Liverpool in all competitions last year.

In 12 appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s team in all competitions, the Egyptian skipper has contributed just five goals and four assists.

Aldridge argues in his piece for the Liverpool Echo that Salah should not be in the starting lineup because he isn’t doing himself or the team any favors.

“Even though I’m one of Mo Salah’s biggest supporters, he deserves to be benched. He should not be included since he is not being fair to either himself or the team.

“It doesn’t matter if you’re Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, or Mo Salah. You must be excluded at that point for your own benefit.

“I don’t sure if Klopp can actually achieve that now that Diaz is hurt,” he continued.

Don’t get me wrong; Mo is not the only one. There are so many guys that are out of shape and have been for some time.

“The manager is urging them to continue playing. He is incredibly devoted, yet his options are limited.

With 10 points after 8 games, Liverpool is presently in 10th place in the Premier League standings.
