William Troost-Ekong, Nigeria’s assistant captain, won’t be available for Tuesday’s friendly match against the Algerian Desert Foxes.

In the team’s test match against Algeria’s Team B on Friday night, Troost-Ekong sustained an injury.

The injury was announced on the Super Eagles’ Twitter account by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

William Troost-Ekong has departed camp due to an injury sustained during yesterday’s test match. He has returned to base for more inspections.

Ekong, we wish you a swift recovery,” reads a tweet from the Super Eagles account.

Due to the Watford defender’s injury, there are now only three center backs available for the match, significantly reducing the roster.

Recall that Wilfred Ndidi, a midfielder for Leicester City, also went back to his base in England after suffering an injury in practice.

On Tuesday, the Super Eagles will compete against the Algerian Desert Foxes at the Miloud Hadefi Stadium in Oran.
