The three appellate court judges who were on the panel that dismissed IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu’s 15-count terrorism charge have been moved from their respective divisions.

Remember how the Appeal Court recently ruled that Kanu’s extradition from Kenya to Nigeria did not follow due process, was a gross violation of the Nigerian extradition treaty, and violated his basic human rights.

This information was included in a note from the Court of Appeal’s president, Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem, dated October 17 and bearing her signature.

The message made clear that the justices’ new assignment took effect immediately and that they needed to report to their new posts by October 21.

In accordance with the memo, Justice Jummai Hanatu Sankey, who presided over the court’s proceedings and had previously served in the Gombe Division, has been moved to the Awka Division, while Justice Oludotun Adetope-Okojie, who gave the lead judgment, has been transferred to Owerri and Justice Ebiowei Tobi, the third member of the court panel, has been moved to Gombe.
