Tinubu’s certificate saga Atiku praises David Hundeyin

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate in the recent general elections, has praised Nigerian investigative journalist David Hundeyin.

Both Atiku and Hundeyin agree that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu submitted forged school documents to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, during the election.

Before the election, the journalist claimed Tinubu was unqualified to seek for the job of the country’s top citizen.

During his world news conference in Abuja on Thursday, Atiku heaped accolades on Hundeyin, Nigerian media, and youngsters for putting the country above all else.

“Former American President Thomas Jefferson once said, ‘If I had to choose between government without newspapers and newspapers without government, I wouldn’t hesitate to choose the latter,” he stated.

“From exposing the Watergate scandal to exposing politicians’ dubious certificates, journalists have maintained eternal vigilance by bridging the gap and stepping in when other branches of government failed.”

“It is for these reasons that I must commend David Hundeyin, an independent journalist whose extraordinary work, like that of many other young people, has become a source of inspiration.”

“Special thanks must be extended to the millions of Nigerian youths, as well as citizen journalists, who continue to spread the truth online even when no one is listening.” True, the cost of liberty is perpetual vigilance.

“They have prioritized the country in their determination to uncover the truth and hold leaders accountable.”

“This gives me the hope that we have worthy partners in the struggle to reclaim the country we call home.”
