Uzodinma: The Oronsaye Report’s implementation will enhance governance

The governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, has praised President Bola Tinubu’s decision to follow the Oronsaye report, claiming it will strengthen governance and boost the country’s economy.

The governor visited Vice President Kashim Shettima on Friday before making the statement in Abuja.

“People all over the world are talking about cutting costs and doing prudent resource management because of the demands of the global economic impact,” he stated.

Thus, the Oronsaye report is an extremely clever, audacious, and brave paper. If carried out correctly, it will complement the government’s present policies and resolve to reduce costs and exercise fiscal restraint.

He added, “We are already implementing it,” in response to the question of whether he would take a similar action to reduce the cost of governance in Imo State.

The governor spoke about how the security situation in Imo had improved and said it was by God’s grace.

“All of your issues are resolved when you are in God’s grace or enjoying it. Therefore, I am overjoyed and glad that Imo State’s security situation has improved.

“Imo State and the South-East region as a whole,” he remarked.

Taking advantage of the occasion, Uzodinma told Nigerians that the benefits of the present economic measures would be felt.

This is happening at a time when our people are dealing with additional difficulties as a result of certain economic policies that haven’t actually allowed successful firms to take off right away.

“However, I believe that eventually the adverse consequences of certain economic policies will cease, and our economy will once more flourish,” he continued.

The governor thanked the people of Imo State for their support and promised them better times to come.
