Why Davido’s Scene Was Missing From the “Back In Uni” Video, Explained by Blaqbonez

Rapper “Emeka Akumefule” of Chocolate City, better known by his stage name “Blaqbonez,” has revealed the rationale behind leaving Davido’s scene out of the “Back In Uni” music video.

He released “Back In Uni” on Wednesday, October 12, to overwhelmingly positive reviews and contentious reactions.

In the independently produced video, Blaqbonez reenacted events from songs such “Bad To Me” by Wizkid, “Ku Lo Sa” by Oxlade, “Girlfriend” by Ruger, “Rush” by Ayra Starr, and “Bandana” by Fireboy DML, among others.

But amid all the excitement, several followers questioned his decision to leave out OBO.

Some claimed the rapper left him out because he wasn’t big enough, while others countered that he is too large to be ‘ridiculed’ like the other musicians in the video.

Blaqbonez responded by saying that although he agrees with the sentiment, there was actually a Davido moment that he was unable to pull off for reasons he would not discuss.

The “Haba” Crooner said he had the utmost regard for DMW CEO, whom he referred to as “001.”

He wrote: “I shared a screenshot of the PDF’s video brief.”

“I enjoy a good agenda, but the reality is that we had a Davido sequence in mind that we were unable to execute for a number of reasons. Director Blaqbonez has my utmost respect.
