To combat insecurity, a religious leader in Zamfara, Nigeria, has called for a nationwide effort

Sheikh Muhammad Sani Tukur Jangebe, a former Commissioner of Religious Affairs and the Chief Imam of the Muslims Foundation Jumuat Mosque in Zamfara State, has called for national unity to resolve Nigeria’s security issues.

In an interview with reporters in Gusau, the State capital, Jangebe revealed the embarrassing and difficult security situation.

Recent disasters in the north, he said, were caused by those who didn’t listen to God and didn’t follow the Prophet Muhammad’s example.

Peace is a key unit of growth in every civilization, he continued, so “we can never forget ahead in its absence.”

He urged the Muslim community to restore peace in Zamfara State and throughout Nigeria by following the teachings of the Holy Quran and the Hadith of the Prophet.
