Posted by Sunday Dare, the former minister of youth and sports development, has said that “the process for the federal government to hand over” Obafemi Awolowo Stadium in Oke Ado Ibadan to the administration of Oyo state “is at an advanced stage.”
During the 2023 Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Oyo state council Press Week, Dare, the Agba-Akin of Ogbomoso, revealed this information on “Veterans Day,” while accepting an award of “Lifetime achievement.”
On Thursday, the event went down in the NUJ Press Centre.
According to him, “the President Bola Tinubu led administration is expected to approve the handling over to Oyo state government in the next several weeks.”
He also mentioned that it was thanks to his efforts as minister that the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna had been transferred to the state government of Kaduna.
