Arsenal nearly completes first January signing

As the January transfer window continues, Arsenal are getting close to completing their first signing of the season.

The Gunners are eager to raise capital this month so that manager Mikel Arteta can bring in a new striker.

In his pursuit of a Premier League title this season, Arteta reportedly has Ivan Toney of Brentford as his top target for Arsenal. Toney is competing with Liverpool and Manchester City.

It is said that Arteta’s team is’strongly interested’ in signing Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad and is also contemplating a deal for Jorrel Hato from Ajax.

Profitability and sustainability regulations (PSR) have Arsenal in a jam right now.

If they are unable to sell players during the January transfer window, their activity may be limited.

The Daily Mail reports that Mohamed Elneny’s transfer status is attracting increasing interest, suggesting that Arsenal might soon complete their first sale.

According to the source, the North London Premier League club is presently evaluating bids for the Egypt international from Turkish clubs Trabzonspor and Besiktas.

This season, Elneny has played in four games for Arsenal.

Among Arteta’s midfield options at Emirates, the midfielder has dropped to the bottom of the list.
