BUK denies allegations that it harbors impostor professors

Prof. Sagir Abbas, VC of Bayero University, Kano (BUK), has denied rumors that the university employs twenty phoney faculty members.

The VC characterized the reports as harmful and destructive in a statement released on Tuesday.

A hoax article claiming to have exposed 100 phoney professors at Nigerian institutions has been making the rounds on social media, and the administration of Bayero University, Kano, has taken note.

“It is our firm belief that the alleged publication was intended to damage Bayero University’s esteemed reputation and was in fact malicious, doctored, and false,” he declared.

Twenty of the phony academics were allegedly found at BUK, as pointed out by Sagir in the publication.

We vehemently reject the idea that there is any such thing at our esteemed educational institution.

A look at the most current global rankings published by eminent university evaluators attests to this.

Also, it’s worth mentioning that the National Universities Commission (NUC) had previously denied the presence of any phoney faculty members at our institutions.

Therefore, Bayero University, Kano, would like to inform the public that the aforementioned 20 fictitious professors are not employed by the institution; they are only the creation of the people peddling the disingenuous news.

People should ignore the aforementioned publication, as we have asked.

“To clear up any confusion, Bayero University, Kano, prioritizes excellence and standards in everything it does, a strategy that has helped it achieve many successes and accolades,” he continued.
