Crisis resolved, Speaker Voted Confident by Jigawa House of Assembly

Lawmakers in the Jigawa State House of Assembly took a strong step toward resolving the recent turmoil on Wednesday by unanimously approving the continued leadership of Speaker Haruna Aliyu.

Members of the House united to reassert their confidence in Speaker Haruna Aliyu’s leadership, marking a turning point after weeks of internal strife.

Some members of the state assembly are reportedly trying to impeach the speaker for allegedly poor leadership, according to the twiscoloaded.

With such a resounding affirmation, the legislative body has shown its dedication to maintaining harmony and stability.

A motion to call for a vote was made by Hamza Ibrahim, who represents the Mallam/Madori Local Government Area, and seconded by Abdu Ila, who represents the Garki Local Government Area.

Mr. Ibrahim stated that the Eight Assembly, headed by Mr. Aliyu, was carrying out its constitutional duties and assisting the state government in its development efforts.

Legislators in Jigawa State decided to work together for the sake of the state as a whole, changing the mood in the assembly hall from uncertainty to unity.

In her remarks, Speaker Haruna Aliyu thanked the members for their confidence vote and stressed the need for cooperation to tackle the state’s problems.

Maintaining democracy and looking out for the people’s interests will be his top priorities, he said.
