Sheriff Oborevwori, governor of Delta State, has declared that Duoye Diri, governor of Bayelsa State, should be reelected because of the progress made in his first four years in office.
On Saturday, Oborevwori gave a speech during the opening of the Etegwe roundabout and the Agilobi road in the Agudama Epie community of Yenagoa Local Government Area, Bayelsa State.
He applauded Diri’s focus on security, saying it has facilitated growth in other vital economic sectors.
He remarked, “Diri is the epitome of a trustworthy servant; his concern for the people has made him a rock in their time of need.”
You took office and made national security a top priority, allowing for more rapid progress in areas such as infrastructure development and others.
You made it possible for businesses to succeed. The good effects of your administration may be seen throughout all sectors of the state’s economy.
You also promised to connect the state’s three senatorial districts. I am pleased to be associated with Governor Diri’s accomplishments, and I have faith that the citizens of the state will turn out in large numbers to vote for you in the upcoming election.
With all the projects he has completed, he justifiably merits another term in office in light of his impressive record of success. It is your time, and the state is at peace because God sent him here to save it.
A second speaker, Diri, said that despite Yenagoa’s historical reputation as a “one road city,” that image has since transformed.
He said his administration’s goal is to make Yenagoa as good as or better than the other capital cities in the country.
Diri continued, “This place was a hideaway for thieves, women and ladies were robbed and abused daily but we no longer suffer such.
Happily, “We are happy that our people has given us the support to develop their communities.”
