EU reaffirms backing for Tinubu’s reforms

European Union (EU) officials visited Abuja on Friday to reaffirm their commitment to supporting President Bola Tinubu’s administration’s development goals and programs.

On October 19, NAN reported that the union’s Managing Director, External Action Service, Rita Laranjinha, informed Vice President, Kashim Shettima, on the upcoming Ministerial Dialogue.

Rits, who promised that the EU would keep looking for new areas to work together, came clean about her presence in Nigeria ahead of the Ministerial Dialogue with government leaders there.

The EU Mission’s Vice President will serve as the dialogue’s chairperson.

In Nigeria, he will meet with government officials to discuss the state of EU-Nigerian ties and plot a course for the future of the partnership.

There is a lot of work to be done in the connection, but today it became very evident that there is a great deal of mutual interest.

To paraphrase, “Nigeria matters in the region, continent, and world,” and “the EU wants to make sure that we will be a partner of choice for Nigeria.”

She expressed gratitude to the vice president for his assistance and reaffirmed the EU delegation’s dedication to collaborating closely with Nigeria across trade, investment, energy, digitalization, and security issues.

While hosting the group at the Presidential Villa, Shettima reaffirmed Nigeria’s willingness to consider effective outside help.

President Tinubu’s foreign policy directive, he said, still prioritizes alliances that benefit both parties.

He insisted that despite the difficulties, the Tinubu administration is still a breath of new air.

The country will be reborn from the ashes of sorrow like the mythical phoenix. If you help us, we can spread our success over the entire continent of Africa, not just West Africa.

We’re serious about changing the course of this nation. This country is a recipient of God’s abundant blessings. We have only put to use around half of our rich natural resources and large labor force.

For the betterment of Nigerians, “we are ready to partner with the EU in the execution of mutually beneficial projects and programs.”

Concerned about migration, Shettima urged the EU to work with the Tinubu administration to create digital jobs.

He continued, saying, “The EU agenda fits in perfectly with the Tinubu administration’s eight-point agenda.”
