The Olodo alternative bridge in Ibadan was inundated on Thursday, stranding hundreds of commuters, travellers, and residents who were using it.

According to our source, the alternate bridge connects the cities of Ibadan in Oyo State with Iwo in Osun State.

At the time of the tragedy, the Olodo bridge was supposedly still under construction by the Oyo State administration.

Those who use the Ibadan-Iwo Road now have an alternate route thanks to the state government’s efforts to repair the road.

However, after Thursday’s midnight downpour in areas of Ibadan, hundreds of residents and travellers were left stuck for hours due to the water.

Road users had to wait for hours before they could use the bridge due to the severe traffic caused by the flood.

A forty-minute wait was necessary before he could cross the bridge, according to an Olodo resident who talked with twiscoloaded.

There was flooding on the alternate bridge. Our current approach will not be sufficient to pass. He bemoaned the fact that it took forty minutes before they could cross the bridge today.
