For “fingering” a six-year-old student, a head teacher receives an 11-year sentence

Jalaludeen Zakari, a head teacher from Burra village in Bauchi State’s Ningi Local Government Area, was found guilty of sexually abusing a student and was given an 11-year prison sentence.

The presiding judge of Bauchi State High Court No. 11, Justice Nana Fatimah Jibrin, gave the verdict.

The Ministry of Justice’s Prosecuting Counsel, Barrister Dayabu Ayuba, a State Counsel, revealed this to reporters in Bauchi on Saturday.

He claims that he called three witnesses, one of which was the victim who gave a statement to the court, during the trial.

He said that the six-year-old girl had come to the school for an admissions screening but had instead been violated by the prisoner who had kept her for hours after the institution had officially closed.

“In legalese, this is equivalent to rape even though he did not use his manhood on the girl,” the attorney stated.

Remember that in 2023, a Bauchi High Court Judge convicted a man named Yusuf Bako to life in jail for raping a girl inside a mosque? That is a similar occurrence.

Furthermore, two other males were sentenced to 35 years in prison each for the intentional killing of a teenage girl in Jama’are and for taking her privates.
