Yobe State’s governor, Mai Mala Buni, is in the United Kingdom to meet with potential partners in the field of education reform.
Buni plans to meet with three top institutions during his trip: the University of Sussex, the University of York, and the Francis Crick Institute.
The state’s educational institutions should benefit from the visit, according to a statement released by his media adviser Mamman Mohammed.
According to the statement, the governor plans to use the trip to investigate potential new avenues of support for the emergency education reforms currently underway.
“There is no doubt that the visit to these institutions would facilitate the state government’s drive to improve education in Yobe State,” the statement continued.
The a number of British organizations had provided Yobe State University with equipment and promised to set up a research center there.
