Herbert Wigwe, the CEO of Access Bank, passed away. Festus Keyamo, Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, responded.
Wigwe, his wife, son, and three other people perished in a US helicopter crash on Friday night, according to a report from .
In response to the tragic event, Keyamo, who was shocked, stated that Wigwe had visited his workplace a few days prior to his passing.
It is extremely upsetting to learn of the untimely death of Herbert Wigwe, a close friend, brother, and neighbor in Lagos who was also the CEO of Access Holdings, the co-founder of Access Bank, and the founder of Wigwe University.
“He visited my office earlier this week, and after we shot the photos below, he actually went to board a plane out of the nation and never returned. Keyamo posted on X, “I am also stunned to learn his wife, son, and other friends were engaged in this tragedy.
He actually came to work with his entire team from Access and Wigwe University because we were about to make a major announcement for the aviation industry. This is so bizarre that I’m at a loss for words.
“May Almighty God comfort his staff, friends throughout Nigeria, and dependents; may he also find comfort in his aging parents and sibling—who for many years as a young lawyer in Anthony Village were also my neighbors in Lagos.”
