President Bola Tinubu and newly appointed Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, have committed to cooperate.

Akume also promised that he wouldn’t let Tinubu and Nigerians down while performing his duty.

After being sworn in at the Presidential Villa in Abuja as the new SGF, he spoke with State House reporters.

“I assure Nigerians I will do my best, I won’t let the President down, I won’t let this nation down, and I won’t let my party down,” Akume said.

“I think that when I carry out my duties in Nigerians’ best interests, they will find fulfillment in me. It is an honor to serve my country, and I am confident that if I follow Almighty God’s guidance, I would do everything in my power to ensure that Nigerians fully benefit from democracy.

“I’ve been around for a while, and I know the man we’re supporting—Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as President—so all we have to do is follow his lead.

“He has never entered the gallery, which is constantly crowded with reviewers. He has always been where the action takes place, in the arena. We must accompany him since he is a doer. We cannot afford to lose.
