On Monday, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State threatened to unseat Seyi Makinde, the current governor of the state, in 2023.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which is currently in power in the state, is also accused by the opposition party of running violent, dishonest, and propaganda-heavy campaigns.

The accusations were aired by the APC at the state’s 3,333-member governorship campaign council’s inauguration in Ibadan.

Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarin, the party’s chairman, Isaac Omodewu, and other party members attended the ceremony. Senator Folarin is the party’s candidate for governor in 2023.

At the party’s office in Oke Ado for the inauguration, Dr. Isiaka Kolawole, Director General of the Campaign Council, insisted

Folarin becoming governor of Oyo in 2023 would be the best thing that could happen to the state, Kolawole said in his remarks to the audience.

He declared that the campaign council would cooperate with the reconciliation committee headed by Senator Olufemi Lanlehin.

He continued by saying that the goal was to bring all party members completely together and in harmony.

Kolawole stated that the party would run an issue-based campaign while discussing what to anticipate throughout the campaign.

We pledge to restore the security of lives and property under Senator Folarin’s next administration to the good people and citizens of Oyo State.

“We have also noted the moribund state of education and the deficit of infrastructure, which we have already addressed in our excellent manifesto.

“The Folarin administration will restore residents’ faith in the state beginning on May 29, 2023, through humanitarian policies and strong leadership.”

In his speech, Omodewu urged party members to put aside their personal differences and issued a warning that a divided party cannot win.

Folarin asserted that neither he nor his party harbor any grudges against Seyi Makinde, the state governor.

“The cornerstone of everything is security. Nobody will make an investment in a location without security, thus the individual frightening the opposition is essentially acting like the deputy governor.

In order for the campaign to remain issue-based, we need your assistance in pleading with them to stop destroying our campaign banners and posters.
