Jonathan asks at his older sister’s funeral to “please pray for my mother

Following the passing of his older sister, Madam Obebhatein, former president Goodluck Jonathan has asked Nigerians to offer prayers for his mother, Mama Eunice Afeni-Jonathan, and his family.

According to Jonathan, their mother was traumatized by Madam Obebhatein’s passing.

He said this on Friday during Madam Obebhatein’s funeral in Otuoke, Bayelsa State’s Ogbia Local Government Area.

Jonathan mentioned that his aging mother’s last surviving sibling was Madam Obebhatein, who passed away on January 11, 2024, at the age of 70.

As they say, death is something we all experience, in his opinion. However, when it arrives also matters. Yes, the time counts, but we shall all die at some point.

The unpleasant part of the entire situation is that our mother must grieve for my older sister, even if we were able to gather these celebrities to celebrate her death.

“My mother should be in mourning when God calls her because she lost her first child. Since I was in London at the time, I must truly appreciate the First Lady of the Bayelsa State and other women who were in her vicinity.

She is still traumatized, as you would know if you knew who she was before and who she is today. So please keep praying for my mother. God will provide for us. Thank you very much.
