LP crisis: Charles Awuzie, the suspended treasurer, is speaking the truth and I’m disappointed

Charles Awuzie, a Nigerian cyber security specialist residing in South Africa, hypothesized on Wednesday that Mrs. Oluchi Oparah, the suspended party treasurer, might be telling the truth amid the ongoing turmoil within the Labour Party, LP.

Awuzie, who backed Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, expressed his profound sadness.

According to the twiscoloaded, Oparah said that Julius Abure, the National Chairman, had refused her access to the party’s bank accounts and financial data.

She also insisted that Abure submit an accounting of party money exceeding N3.5 billion, which came from the sale of forms and other funds raised for the general election in 2023.

As of yet, she claimed, the chairman has refused every request to allow the party’s records to be examined since the sale of nomination and expression of interest forms ended.

The Labour Party’s National Working Committee (NWC) harshly imposed a six-month suspension on Oparah in reaction to the accusations.

During a press briefing, LP’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Obiora Ifoh, claimed that the suspended Treasurer was a mole employed by opposition parties to sow discord inside the party.

But Awuzie hinted that the suspended Treasurer might be telling the truth in a post on his Facebook page.

The cyber security specialist expressed his profound sadness at the event.

I’m sorry to hear this as someone who assisted in bringing resources to the Labour Party.

“Dear Obidients, at all costs, defend Oluchi Oparah, the Labour Party Treasurer.

She is telling it as it is.

I am currently overcome with profound disappointment. Does that indicate that we can’t ever get politics right in this country?”
