Minister Tinubu will address the issue of truancy and dropouts

Professor Tahir Mamman, Nigeria’s Minister of Education, recently shared President Bola Tinubu’s intentions to address the country’s problem of illiterate youth.

While showing off Governor Umo Eno’s renovations to Christ the King School on Wellington Bassey Way in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Mamman made the revelation.

The minister praised Governor Eno for investing in basic education infrastructure, saying it was in line with President Tinubu’s goal of reversing the decline in student enrollments and that it could only be accomplished through cooperation between local, state, and federal governments.

The minister made the remark while touring the renovated Christ the King School while in Uyo for the reunion of the University of Lagos law class of 1984.

“Indeed, there is hope for us as a country with the effort of all the governors, everybody, and the Federal Government working together collaboratively,” he remarked.

That is a priority for us on the national level, and for President Bola Amed Tinubu in particular. This is the best technique to make it so that kids who aren’t in school can be written out of history.

Earlier, the governor had explained that the necessity to instill a love of learning in young people was behind his administration’s focus on elementary education.

We’re asking for backing from the federal government. It’s about the future of our kids and their kids. Again, I want to emphasize something here, “Gov. Eno noted the possibility of cooperation between the federal and state governments.
