From Sunday to Tuesday, there will be cloudy and thunderous weather across the country, according to the Nigerian Meteorological Agency, or NiMet.

According to NiMet’s weather prediction, which was made public on Saturday in Abuja, there will be dust clouds over the northern region during the forecast period, and there may be thunderstorms over some areas of the states of Taraba and Kaduna in the afternoon and evening.

The agency states that throughout the afternoon and evening hours, a sunny sky with patches of clouds is anticipated across the North Central, with the possibility of thunderstorms over areas of Nasarawa, Benue, Kogi, and the Federal Capital Territory.

Over the inland states and the coastal cities of the South, cloudy skies with breaks of sunshine are predicted, with the possibility of morning thunderstorms over some areas of Lagos state.

Thunderstorms are predicted to pass across areas of Anambra, Enugu, Ebonyi, Imo, Edo, Abia, Delta, Rivers, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River in the afternoon and evening later in the day, according to the report.

During Monday’s forecast period, NiMet predicted bright skies and a hazy environment across the Northern area.

Additionally, it predicted a sunny sky with cloudy patches over the cities in the North Central region for the duration of the prediction, with a probability of a few thunderstorms across portions of Niger, Kwara, Kogi, and Benue.

The agency forecasted a partly cloudy sky with intermittent sunny periods across the South’s coastal cities and inland states in the morning.

Later in the day, thunderstorms were expected by NiMet to pass over portions of Ondo, Ekiti, Ogun, Osun, Edo, Ebonyi, Abia, Bayelsa, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, and Rivers.

Tuesday’s forecast calls for cloudy skies with intermittent sunny spells over the northern area, with the possibility of thunderstorms over portions of Gombe, Kebbi, Kaduna, and Taraba in the afternoon and evening.

It said, “Throughout the forecast period, sunny atmospheres with patches of clouds are anticipated over the North Central cities with chances of thunderstorms over most places during the afternoon and evening period.”

Strong winds may therefore precede the rains in locations where thunderstorms are likely to occur, the agency warned the public, and they should exercise appropriate caution.

NiMet reports that temperatures are continuing high, particularly in the north. Stay hydrated, please.

People who have respiratory problems were advised to stay hydrated and be mindful of the current weather conditions, as temperatures are still high, particularly in the North.

In order to organize their operations effectively, the agency also recommended airline operators to obtain the most recent weather data and forecasts from its office.
