PDP Governor Diri says he owes the Supreme Court no explanation for his visit to Tinubu

Visiting President Bola Tinubu so soon after the Supreme Court’s verdict on the presidential election has left Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri saying he owes no explanation to anyone.

After the Supreme Court pronounced him the victor of the election, Diri visited Tinubu. This prompted the opposition to become nervous and start spreading false rumors.

After Tinubu’s election as president was upheld by the Supreme Court on Thursday, a video surfaced showing Diri congratulating him.

However, Diri said that his trip to Tinubu was routine.

On Friday, he addressed supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the hamlet of Igbedi, located in the Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area of the state.

After the Supreme Court’s ruling on the presidential election, Governor Diri stated he could now congratulate President Tinubu.

He stated he was in the president’s villa to talk about important state concerns and that the president had been very attentive.

The video was trending on Thursday while he was in Abuja, he claimed. The opponents are now panicked and spreading false information. That’s just who they are, after all.

There is a president in office, and as governor, I have no responsibility to explain why I met with him.

If the Supreme Court upholds the president, I will exercise my prerogative to visit him as governor. But apart from that, I went for extremely serious state business, and I can assure you that Mr. President addressed every concern I brought up.
