Police in Kano State have beeped up security within and outside the metropolis ahead of the May 29th inauguration of the new administration.

Spokesman, Kano State Police Command, DSP Abdullah Haruna Kiyawa, stated this in a statement issued to twiscoloaded.

He said the Command has engaged all the available police assets and relevant security agencies are working together to ensure a hitch-free inauguration scheduled to hold on Monday, at Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofar Mata, Kano.

He said the Commissioner, CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel, warned all those who want to cause trouble, as well as those with subversive agenda, to steer clear and away from the planned events of the Inauguration activities.

” I am leading the “joint Operation Show of Force” with the military alongside the personnel of other sister security agencies and are engaging on round-the-clock visibility patrols, raids of criminal hideouts and black spots with robust intelligence gathering to detect elements with tendencies that are likely to cause breach of the peace or breakdown of the law and order,” Gumel said.

CP Gumel advised people to behave orderly, avoid climbing scoreboards and floodlights, and also avoid carrying any item that may trigger suspicion or apprehension.

He also advised motorists and other road users moving towards the stadium to note that between 1600hrs of Sunday 28th until 29th May 2023 there would be no movement.
