He shared an old photo of himself and Wizkid and captioned it, “The original pioneers of the new Afrobeat sound! As soon as you see this post, turn to the wall. Wizkid and Samklef. Men, get your homework done. Use Google to your advantage. Aw! Aw!” (sic)
Samklef responded to Davido’s assertion that he and Wizkid were the first young Nigerian artists to achieve popularity in another tweet.
The producer claimed that Wizkid and Olamide were really the young musicians who initially burst onto the Nigerian music scene.
