President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been instructed by Comrade Saheed Murtala Olayinka, the chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Kwara State council, to find competent individuals to tackle the nation’s economic and security challenges.
Olayinka stated that there are bright and intellectual Nigerians who can change the narrative as the nation’s economy plummets in an interview with reporters at the Labour House, Ilorin, on Tuesday, just after the first day of the countrywide organized protest by Nigerian workers came to a close.
Seek out individuals with the necessary skills and offer them the chance to work for the government.
“Every second, the naira depreciates and prices of goods and services rise, and workers on fixed incomes continue to suffer,” he stated.
Regarding the issue of insecurity, he stated that since there is no place like home, Nigerians have no interest in leaving the nation.
He asked the federal government to close the loopholes and focus more on the security issue.
The head of labor was adamant that the first day of the demonstration ought to have sent a clear message to the government authorities.
Earlier, during a vote of thanks, Abdullateef Ahmed, the chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Kwara State council, referred to the current socioeconomic conditions as generally undesirable.
On the first day of the protest, the workers marched peacefully to the Governor’s Office in Ilorin, under the watchful eyes of police officers, led by the state chairman of the NLC and other union leaders, and then returned to the Labour House.
