SGF Akume: Nigerians need to come together for peace and economic growth

Sen. George Akume, the SGF, has said that for Nigeria’s economy and democracy to thrive, Nigerians must be unified.

This was revealed when he hosted Chris Alozie, chairman of the Forum of Former Deputy Governors of Nigeria, in his Abuja office.

“Nigerians must cooperate for the sake of national stability, the growth of our democratic system, and the prosperity of our economy.

We as a people must be unified at all times. To paraphrase the Sadauna of Sokoto, the foremost keepers of information, our greatest asset is the richness of our variety. To this day, that has shown to be accurate.

“Together, we will keep developing new ideas that strengthen our democracy and our economy.

That’s exactly what this country needs right now. All of us stand to gain from success. We’ll all be hurt if things go out of hand.

“So, given your maturity, I have every reason to believe that this forum will continue to play a key role in promoting the unity and stability of our dear country,” added Akume.

The SGF has promised to show up at the forum’s annual meeting on October 21.
