Tasks from the Nasarawa Assembly include creating jobs, ensuring student and worker security

The Federal University of Lafia, or FULafia, has been tasked by the Nasarawa State House of Assembly with finding work for its graduating students as well as others in order to lower the nation’s unemployment rate.

The call was made by Mr. Musa Ibrahim, the Chairman of the House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, while he was in Lafia hosting the FULafia management.

“In order to combat the nation’s unemployment rate, jobs should be created as you are graduating students and you should absorb some of them and other people,” he stated.

He praised the university for maintaining high academic standards and reaffirmed the House’s commitment to providing it with the utmost support in order to facilitate the institution’s success and the general advancement of the state and nation.

“I would like to thank you for your visit and promise you that the assembly will continue to support the institution in order to make it successful.

“We are pleased with the university’s educational program.

He declared, “We are prepared to assist, cooperate, and partner with the university for the institution’s overall development.”

Prior to this, Prof. Samaila Usman, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research and Partnerships, had stated that the purpose of the visit was to ask for the members’ and the House’s support for the institution’s overall development.

He declared, “The university is doing everything in its power to protect the lives and belongings of its employees and students.”
