The Army has issued a message of calm as Exercise Vulcan Glow gets underway

The Nigerian Army Corps of Artillery has reassured locals in Kachia, Kaduna State, that the recent deployment of troops and the arrival of military equipment is nothing to worry about.

Captain Adekunle Adeyemi, Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, made this announcement.

The announcement said the exercise, codenamed “Ex Vulcan Glow IX,” will take place in the Military Training Range in Kachia, Kaduna State, from October 20 to November 3, 2023, and that it was a continuation of the Nigerian Army’s training efforts for the year.

The statement claims that during the training period, people will hear gunfire and see large numbers of soldiers moving around.

The statement went on to tell people in Kachia and elsewhere not to freak out but to stay away from the area on October 30 when a firepower demonstration is scheduled to conclude the drill.
