The date for the Supreme Court to hear Atiku’s appeal of Tinubu’s victory at the PEPT has been set

An appeal filed by Atiku Abubakar against the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal’s decision to uphold Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has been scheduled for Monday, October 23, 2023, at the Supreme Court.

Atiku asked the Supreme Court to “chuck technicality” and grant his application for leave to tender fresh and additional evidence in support of his claim that Tinubu submitted a forged document to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to contest the February 25 presidential election.

Atiku argued that it is unacceptable to promote the use of fake documents by any candidate, but especially a contender for the highest office in the land.

In response to Tinubu’s objection to granting Atiku authorization to bring the new evidence before the Supreme Court, the former vice president made this argument on a matter of law.

The highest court in the land has scheduled an appeal hearing on Monday, October 23rd, according to a letter released on Thursday.
