The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said it wouldn’t give up on reaching out to Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, and other irate party members.
Remember how the Wike-led PDP section resigned from Atiku’s presidential campaign committee? They demanded that Ayu retire so that a person from the South could take over as party leader.
Other governors in Wike’s coalition include Samuel Ortom of Benue State, Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Okezie Ikpaezu of Abia State, and Ugwuanyi Ifeanyi of Enugu State.
PDP National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, briefed the media on the reconciliation initiative on Friday in Abuja and said that the party is looking into further avenues to bridge the rift.
He spoke
“This party is PDP, not an individual. We have an internal dispute resolution process, and we can’t lose up on the idea of reconciliation. We negotiate instead of giving orders or giving commands.
“As a party, we have every faith that Governor Wike, other governors, and other party members with pressing matters will continue to be significant. However, despite any divisions, misunderstandings, or disagreements, we are all working together to free our nation from the directionless APC regime.
