Bandits kill 12 and set fire to Kaduna community

On Sunday, rampaging bandits in Kaduna State set fire to 17 houses, killing 12 residents and injuring around 9 others in the Gindin Dutse Makyali hamlet of Kufana district in Kajuru Local Government Area.

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State, who has been conducting discussions with security forces, strongly condemned the attacks and prayed for the souls of the victims.

According to Samuel Aruwan, the Overseeing Commissioner of the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs in Kaduna State, Uba Sani has also directed the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to assist the affected communities in Kajuru and Igabi LGAs as soon as possible following the destruction of some of their homes and valuables.

The Governor emphasized the government’s sincerity and commitment to addressing the state’s security concerns.

Although the police had yet to respond to the event, journalists were told that the bandits struck the village at 5 a.m., while many residents were still asleep.

According to a local, the victims died in the fire, while nine others were taken to hospitals for treatment of severe burns.

According to him, “17 houses were burned during the attack.” It lasted several hours. We are asking the authorities to send more soldiers to the region.”
