Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, has announced that he will hire 100,000 more special assistants.

Almost immediately after increasing the number of special aides for political units from 28,000 to 50,000, Putin made this declaration.

The Governor had previously nominated 319 ward liaison officers and 14,000 special advisers for the political units.

In a press conference on Friday, Wike defended the action, adding that it was a part of his government’s initiatives to fight poverty and give young people more influence.

“We had a meeting this morning and decided to raise it to 100,000. Regarding the amount of appointments, he remarked, “They are all Rivers people.

Isn’t it the responsibility of the government to fight poverty? Is not empowering the populace the responsibility of the government?

What are the voters saying there; are they content with our government? You investigate so we can make any necessary improvements before we depart.

The Rivers leader responded that it wouldn’t be the first time he has toed that line when asked if it was a hardship on his administration.

“It’s a problem if we don’t have the money to pay. Information is important to me. Was this the first time I appointed these 319 liaison officers? A year ago, it was there.

Is this the first time we’ve had 40 local government area liaison officers?

People tend to forget things easily, so I’ve tried to pay attention.

Governor Wike also refuses to provide the salary for the targeted staff.

By the time they are paid, you ask, ‘That is not your business to know how much they will be paid,’ he insisted.
