The government of Delta has banned traffic task forces after a motorcyclist was killed

The government of Delta State has listened to citizens’ requests and disbanded all traffic task squads within the state.

The Ughelli North Council, Delta State Task Force on Traffic may have had something to do with the death of a motorist.

The nasty event in Ughelli a few days ago allegedly stemmed from drivers going against traffic, prompting appeals to the state governor.

While in Delta State, the chairman of the council, Hon. Ramson Onoyake, has outlawed a similar traffic control task team in Uvwie local government.

The prohibition was implemented in response to many complaints from local motorists and tricycle drivers.

After receiving complaints from drivers and tricycle drivers, Onoyake removed the traffic control task force members from their positions immediately.

Onoyake, speaking to the former members of the task force at the council secretariat in Effurun, recalled telling them they would be disbanded if they broke the law.

Since they had betrayed the public’s trust, he instructed Task Force Chairman Chief Lucky Orode and the disbanded Task Force members to remove their uniforms and stay out of his office.

The head honcho also requested that the two co-chairs of the environment task force not let the restricted traffic task force members near them as they worked.

When the axe fell on the task force members, the deputy chairman of the local government, Hon. Henry Biyibi, the leader of the Uvwie Legislative Arm, Hon. Gabriel Obodo, and other council workers were also present.
