Chancellor Ahaghotu, a student from Nigeria at Atlanta, Georgia, USA’s Savannah College of Art and Design, is the new holder of the Guinness World Record (GWR) for the longest painting marathon.

On Wednesday, GWR stated on its official handle that Ahaghotu had painted for 100 consecutive hours, breaking a record that had stood for ten years.

“Ahaghotu, a Nigerian art student, has broken a ten-year record for the longest painting marathon after painting for 100 consecutive hours,” the GWR announced.

Famous people, flora, fauna, and culinary items were among the 106 subjects that Ahaghotu painted.

When asked about his recent accomplishments, Ahaghotu said that the artwork reflects “my different mood and feeling.”

Upon finishing the 100 hours, there was much rejoicing and revelry. I am relieved to have finished what was a novel experience for me.

The prior record, set in 2013, by a Belgian artist named Roland Palmaerts, who painted for 60 hours straight
