Olatunji Baruwa, the goalkeeper trainer for the Super Eagles, was hosted by Abdullahi Sule, the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, on Wednesday in Lafia.

Baruwa received an undisclosed sum of money from Governor Sule during a quick welcome at the Government House in Lafia.

Baruwa is also the goalkeeper trainer for Nasarawa United, a team in the Nigerian National League.

The coach expressed gratitude to the top state resident for his thoughtful action.

“Your Excellency, Sir, I’m so emotional already that I don’t know what to say,” he said.

“Nasarawa State has shown me kindness.” They are the next family I have after my own.

At the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, the Super Eagles came in second.
