In response to the issue surrounding Betta Edu, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, the Presidency has stated that President Bola Tinubu will not hesitate to reorganize his cabinet if necessary.
The president may only consider reorganizing his cabinet in light of the continuing investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), according to Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity.
Ngelale said that Tinubu had advised his ministers personally not to be involved in fraud of any kind.
During her appearance on TVC Politics Today, Ngelale stated that Tinubu has repeatedly communicated to his administration officials, both in private meetings and inside the Federal Executive Council, that he will not abide by any type of incompetence, corruption, dereliction of duty, or indiscipline.
Everything is up in the air at this point. That the president has mandated an exhaustive probe, though, is beyond the realm of conjecture. He will act in accordance with the direction that his investigation takes him.
I don’t think the president would do anything like that until he knows what the investigation has found and whether other government officials should be involved based on the results.
It is only normal to push news about a potential cabinet shakeup if there is even a hint that such a thing could happen.
However, I believe it is critical that we refrain from interfering with the president’s actions. Everything that has to do with the actions or lack thereof of his administration’s employees is known to the president.
