The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Working Committee has demanded that the security forces apprehend the assassins of the party’s Plateau State publicity secretary.
The NWC stated that apprehending the criminals will provide relief to the victim and his family while also discouraging others with similar intentions.
According to twiscoloaded, as of last Saturday evening, in Pankshin LGA of the State, assassins who have not yet been named murdered Mr. Sylvanus Namang, the APC’s state public secretary, and another man, Sunny Okonkwo.
During a Thursday condolence visit to the party chapter in Jos, the Deputy National Chairman of the Party, Ali Bukar Dalori, made the request while leading a small group of NWC members.
“We were shocked to learn of the passing of our State Publicity Secretary, Mr. Sylvanus Namang; it took some time before we could even begin to inform our other officials,” he stated.
Sylvanus Namang was brutally murdered by as-yet-unnamed assailants, and we urge security personnel to identify and apprehend those responsible.
“More than just a deterrent, holding those responsible to account will offer us and his family some measure of relief,” he emphasized.
“Up till now we are yet to come to terms with what has happened,” said Rufus Bature, the state party chairman, who had previously thanked the NWC for the condolence visit.
Everyone has to die, albeit the method and circumstances of this tragedy are concerning.
Bature emphasized the importance of party members being vigilant about their safety when they go about their everyday lives.
