Asisat Oshoala thinks Barcelona’s 9-0 thrashing of Portuguese club Benfica on Tuesday night sends a clear message to their opponents in Europe.
In the Group D match, the Blaugurana earned their largest victory in the UEFA Women’s Champions League and set a startling precedent.
The Super Falcons forward not only scored twice but also contributed two assists.
The 28-year-old was selected as the game’s MVP.
Barcelona finished second in the league last year, but Oshoala believes that following a strong start to the current season, they are set to conquer the continent once again.
“We have to send a message to all the clubs that we will be going all-out this season as always,” Oshoala told Uefa TV.
“In my opinion, the team’s performance and my efforts to support the team are more crucial than the goals themselves.”
