Delta residents alert government officials with urgent bridge collapse concern

The residents of Enenurhie and Enhwe have petitioned the government of Delta State to fix the broken Enenurhie-Enhwe bridge as soon as possible so that travelers can once again reach Ughelli, Bayelsa, and Port-Harcourt, Rivers State.

TWISCOLOADED visited the spot and found an unmotorable road.

Peter Manson, President-General of the Enenurhie Community, said “this damage is beyond community effort,” pleading with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to assist fix the bridge.

A motorist, Keno Omofezi, who was on his way from Igbide to Oleh, criticized the unsightly state of the bridge.

“It hurts to even consider how we got into this mess. The destruction is enormous, catastrophic, and heartbreaking. We respectfully request that our governor come rescue us from this impromptu pit in which we find ourselves,” he stated.

Because it links the Isoko settlements to the well-traveled East-West Road, the bridge has been given special attention by Omofezi.

We simply cannot continue to do without it,” he said.
