According to Mr. Muhammad Haruna, Assistant Commandant General, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence (NSCDC), Zone B, embracing innovation and technology continues to be the key to improving the capacities of Corps members.
At the yearly celebration of International Civil Defence Day and the graduation of 174 corps recruits following their six-month training at the Correctional Staff College, Barnawa-Kaduna, Haruna made this declaration on Friday in Kaduna.
“This event is especially meaningful because it brings us together to honor the courageous officers and men who give their all to ensure the security and safety of our communities.
We are fortunate to have a committed force in Nigeria’s NSCDC, whose members represent the greatest standards of sacrifice and service.
From defending our vital national infrastructure and assets to reacting to natural disasters and upholding law and order.
“In the face of hardship, the officers and men of the corps demonstrate unwavering courage and commitment.”
He proclaimed, “They are our real heroes, and we honor their priceless contributions to our country today.”
According to him, everyone who makes a contribution to the security and welfare of the community ought to be acknowledged and valued.
“To the brave firefighters who put their lives in danger to fight fires and save property, to the committed EMTs who give life-saving care to those in need, and to the people who look after our correctional facilities.”
“Let us pause to show our appreciation to these unsung heroes whose selfless deeds frequently go unnoticed but have a profound impact on other people’s lives,” he continued.
He said that since the day was being observed, it became necessary to recognize how important it is to encourage residents to develop safety skills.
“We face a diverse range of challenges in Nigeria, including natural disasters, communal conflicts, and security threats,” he stated.
Thus, he added, it was crucial to give the communities the information and abilities they needed to handle situations.
