Justice Tertsea Kume, the chairman of the Osun Election Petition Panel, has said that the tribunal would meet even on Saturdays and legal holidays.

The Tribunal said that by making this choice, it will be able to complete its mission on schedule.

Recall that Adegboyega Oyetola, the state governor and the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for governor, petitioned the court to overturn Ademola Adeleke, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, winning the July 16, 2022, gubernatorial election.

The Tribunal also instructed the parties to submit witness scheduling not less than 24 hours prior to tribunal hearings.

During his pre-hearing report during Monday’s resumed session in Osogbo, Kume made this disclosure.

The period set aside by the parties for the testimony of witnesses will be preserved, and the tribunal orders that all pleaded documents be removed from the bar and any objections postponed until their final addresses.

From Monday through Friday, the tribunal will start meeting at 10 am and end at 4 pm, with the exception of Friday, when it will adjourn at 1 pm.

Depending on the urgency of the situation, the tribunal may even meet on Saturdays and legal holidays.

The whole hearing’s start date was postponed by Justice Kume until October 26, 2022.
