Governors running on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) platform have urged the federal government led by the All Progressives Congress to step up and handle the problem before it gets out of control in light of the nation’s growing hardship.

The governors stated that the nation’s economic and security issues were the cause of the current suffering that Nigerians are going through.

Following their meeting in Abuja on Monday, the governors released a communiqué that included this information.

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, who chairs the PDP Governors’ Forum, read the meeting’s communiqué.

They restated their demand for the creation of a multi-level police force.

“The State of the Nation was reviewed at the meeting, and it was highlighted that Nigerians are suffering as a result of the country’s economic and security issues.

In order to bring about a long-term solution to the crises, “the forum consequently urges the federal government to as a matter of urgency embark on initiatives involving all the sub-national governments,” the Forum stated.

The Forum did, however, reassure the populace that the PDP governors would keep contributing to the endeavor to provide protection and assistance to the populace.

“In light of this, we once again demand that state police be equipped with the necessary safeguards to prevent misuse or overreach on the part of any level of government.

The statement went on, “The Forum bemoaned the depreciating value of the Naira and asked the fiscal and monetary authorities to find suitable solutions.”
