Forbes has named Cristiano Ronaldo, captain of Portugal’s national team, the highest-paid footballer in the world for 2023.
Ronaldo, who currently plays for Al Nassr in the Saudi league, has a higher annual salary than either Lionel Messi or Neymar.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner is also the highest-paid athlete in history, by a wide margin.
The 38-year-old came out on top with an estimated $260 million in earnings.
The estimated annual value of Ronaldo’s endorsement portfolio is $60 million, while his contract with Al Nassri is valued at $200 million.
Lionel Messi, his everlasting opponent, is anticipated to earn $135 million this year, putting him in second position.
Neymar, a footballer for Brazil, rounds out the top three with $112 million.
