Keyamo disputes the proposal to relocate firefighting supplies to Lagos

The assertion that the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development intends to relocate a firefighting simulator from the Nigerian College of Technology, Zaria, to Lagos State has been denied by Festus Keyamo, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development.

The minister referred to the assertion as the creation of mischievous people in a statement released on Monday by Tunde Moshood, his Special Adviser on Media and Communication.

According to the twiscoloaded, there were differing opinions on the purported action after the Northern Elders Forum issued a warning against it on Sunday and called the development concerning in a statement signed by Abdul-Azeez Suleiman, director of publicity and advocacy.

But Keyamo refuted the assertion in the statement.

“A video circulating about a motion made on the House of Representatives floor by an honorable member referring to an unfounded plan by the ministry to move a firefighting simulator out of the Nigerian College of Technology, Zaria to Lagos State and urging the House to restrain the move has brought the attention of the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development,” the statement reads.

“The rumor is completely false and nothing more than destabilization agents’ sheer mischief. The Speaker met privately with the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development a few days prior, during which the Minister reassured him that there was not a shred of truth in the rumors. “While we acknowledge the patriotism of the House entertaining the motion, we think it was totally unnecessary,” the Speaker said.
